OPENS ON LITTLE BAY ISLANDS THIS SUMMER
Jim and Sharlene are pleased to announce that they have acquired an historic house on Little Bay Islands, Newfoundland. We will preserve the character of the traditional outport home while offering a comfortable stay.
My Newfoundland Home B&B will be open for guests on June 15, 2008.
Get away from it all and come to Little Bay Islands, an outport fishing community-stunningly beautiful and peaceful. Take the scenic 45 minute ferry ride leaving Shoal Arm, just minutes from Springdale.
We offer great hiking trails for all levels of walkers, access to boat tours, and interpretive walks around the community. See local boat builders at work. Get fresh lobster right from the wharf. Discover the Beothuk Indian heritage and the history of the salt fish trade. The secluded harbour is well-known to boating and kayaking enthusiasts everywhere.
During your visit, you can experience some of Sharlene’s traditional Newfoundland cooking, and hear Jim present Newfoundland history and culture in story and song at our Newfoundland Kitchen Party. Why not take in our “Afternoon Tea” with your friends or meet new ones?

"For Immediate Release"
A Collection of Original Songs in the Newfoundland Tradition
We are pleased to announce the release of Jim Forward's debut CD "Remember Your Newfoundland Home". This work is a compilation of 12 selections written over 35 years.
The songs are original and in the Newfoundland tradition. The kitchen party mood of the collection lends freshness and authenticity to the songs.
The cover song "Remember Your Newfoundland Home" was written when his sons left for the mainland. It is a reminder to all who have to leave the province to remember their strong roots, values and culture. This is a tribute which paints a picture of a vanishing way of life in Newfoundland and at the same time celebrates that way of life.
Two of the songs were written by his sons, Gregory and Michael, who also played and sang on the recordings.
This CD is for all the young and old who are affected by out migration. It is music for us all to "Remember Your Newfoundland Home". To hear samples of the music, click on MUSIC on the banner above. To puchase the CD, click on STORE.
